Over the past week in Jones county district court, 10 actions were filed including an accounts and judgment suit, a divorce, and an OMVI charge. Thunderstorm Breaks Harsh Monticello Weather Spell
Heavy rain and thunder swept Monticello last Wednesday night ending a week of heat and humidity. Three inches of rain fell in 90 minutes with hail west of town and wind flattening corn in Hardscrabble. A new West Monticello four-plex under Cecil Goettsch construction had its upper walls toppled. Separate crash near 500 North Maple injured Mrs. Janet Mooney and two children. police continue investigation.
