Iowa Birds and Winter Feeding Highlight Provincial Game News
W. E. Albert reports two black mallards at the Lansing state game farm with one trapped and the other remaining. Farmers like Theo Pompe of Lotts Creek feed pheasants by dragging oats from sacks along roads. Iowa licenses 6.9 million with revenue over ten million. Sloan reports a flock of wild geese headed northwest. The state plans 285 900 hunting license blanks and 21 090 one dollar fishing licenses to go out soon. The commission aims to stock pheasants, encourage feeding and cover, and establish prairie sanctuaries with selective exclusion of pheasants to aid native game.
