Sudden Death Of Infant Twin In Bailey Family

A newborn twin died suddenly Thursday morning after a mother noticed cold hands while the baby slept beside her. The infant, one of a set of twins of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Bailey, was placed in the mother’s bed and found lifeless on examination.

M E Church Members Hold Beechwood Park Picnic

Members of the M. E. church and families picnic at Beechwood Park near Rockville all day Thursday. Six automobiles arrived, baskets filled with meats salads pies cakes and fruits. Morning strolls and games for children followed by dining and socializing in the afternoon.

Vermillion County Supt. Valentine Resigns to Take Hartford Post

Vermillion county school superintendent Roy H. Valentine resigned his office, effective Monday September 8, 1919, after tendering resignation to the county auditor. He reportedly accepted a lucrative position in Hartford city schools. The township trustees were called to elect a successor. the office pays 1408 dollars yearly with 860 dollars for an assistant.

Big Truck Breaks Through Bridge In Indiana

A loaded Mogg Lumber Co. truck broke through a newly built Wabash River bridge at night causing brief traffic stoppage. Logs were rolled off to clear the span. the bridge appears unsafe with long spans between supports. The truck returned next morning and reloaded logs with speed using modern equipment.
