Men Move Tools to Repair Flooded Levy South of Terre Haute

Claude Ingram and Fred Hendricks moved their tools fifteen miles south of Terre Haute to repair five miles of levy washed out by the flood. They will relocate about seventy five thousand yards of dirt and expect to work through the winter. The levy protects about seventeen thousand acres of farm land.

Susie McIntosh Dies at Clinton After Illness

Susie McIntosh, wife of William McIntosh, died at home in Clinton after a brief illness. The funeral was Tuesday at 2 PM from the McIntosh home, with interment at Oakland cemetery. A large crowd from Montezuma and the Presbyterian Church attended, and Rev. J. D. Clay delivered comforting remark with choir selections.

The United States Geological Survey reports 1913 natural asphalt output fell to 92 604 short tons valued at 750 713 while manufactured or oil asphalt rose to 436 586 short tons valued at 4 531 657 in 1918. Imports totaled 228 178 short tons led by Trinidad. A 1913 asphalt production report is available from the Survey Director in Washington.
