Leonard Wheeler and Ben Gegogge escaped unhurt after Wheeler’s plane broke in two upon crashing from about two hundred feet when the engine failed. Wheeler plans to reconstruct the craft and resume flights, noting ten prior successful journeys and passenger rides over the town.

Mrs George Linebarger died at her Los Angeles home on October 4. Her body and family were transported to Rockville for a Wednesday funeral at the Linebarger chapel with interment there. Rev B F Ivey of Indianapolis led services. She is survived by her husband John A Linebarger a son and four daughters including Mrs Arthur Scott Mrs Luther Manwaring and Miss Mary Linebarger.

Charles Spurgeon of Hillsdale sustained a broken jaw and Eye injury after a Wednesday night fight with Joe Bugg of nearby in which a tile was used as a weapon. Spurgeon remained in serious condition at Union hospital Terre Haute. Bugg, charged with assault and battery, pleaded not guilty and was held on $500 bond for October 27 hearing.

James Morris escaped unharmed after another larger car crowded him off the grade west of the river bridge Tuesday evening. The other car, believed damaged, was towed to a local garage Wednesday as it was described too narrow for the road. Road hogs are blamed for similar close shaves.
