Mrs Emma Powell nearly started a large blaze when she lit a match near a gasoline stove after three quarts spilled from a opened valve while cleaning dishes. Neighbors extinguished the fire with the stove removed to the yard. C G sustained a badly burned hand.

The infant child of Mrs. Geo Beck died Monday at about one year old. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 o clock at the ME Church with Rev. Ulay of the Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment followed at Oakland Cemetery.
Clarence Doss, a workman on the Armiesburg bridge construction, was struck by a breaking two by four. The incident left him with a broken right arm eight feet below the scaffold. He received prompt care and the fracture was set by Dr. J. C. Reeder.
The death of S. D. Hill occurred shortly after six o clock last evening after a short illness of one week. Funeral arrangements were not finalized at press time as relatives had yet to respond. most likely funeral services will be held on Saturday.
In the conference allotment Montezuma receives a change with Rev. R. J. Hicks moving to Hobart and A. B. Simpson coming here. J. Davis transfers to Ft. Harrison church in Terre Haute. Dana retains E. Beebee. Few retain prior posts as the shakeup spreads through the districts.
W A Norris and R Lindley visited Indianapolis on Sunday. Mrs John Robbins is seriously ill and not expected to live. Tom Smith of Dana called on friends and relatives. Ghas Machledt is repairing Newport bridge forms. Wm Carlin and Treece from Indianapolis stayed with H B Griffith. George Mathas and daughter Maud visited Terre Haute. Fred Murphy and wife traveled from Decatur Illinois to visit. Mrs Arthur Machir Mrs Fred Shalley and Mrs Fred Murphy went to Rockville Saturday afternoon. Grace McLaughlin Beulah Smith attended Rockville band concert. Massa Mathas may spend winter with brother W P at Daytona Beach Florida. Mrs Bonnie Smith of Washington DC and Mrs Pamela Mason of Sandusky Ohio visit Fannie Miles family for three weeks. Frank Pressler and Edward Hancock returned to Indianapolis Tuesday in a 1914 Overland.
Indianapolis visitors Mr and Mrs W W Burk spent time in town while Mrs Martha Ratcliff visited Terre Haute with her daughter Edith. Several locals hosted guests from Bellemere Terre Haute and Illinois, and trips included a business journey to Indianapolis. A mix of sewing requests and club meetings appeared among the gatherings.
