Montezuma defeated Ladoga 7-2 at Ladoga in a historic upset as Ladoga had not lost at home before. Brooks Williams Roberts and Holden worked the mound, with three-base hits from Brooks Babe Giovannni and King. Settee left with a sprained ankle as Providence protected left field.

Montezuma defeated Newport 4-3 at Newport in a hard fought game. Settee left with a sprained ankle first noted since the Ladoga game on June 18. Giovannni earned a three base hit in the ninth as Montezuma preserved a narrow victory behind Lynch and Roberts, and Lewman and Swain.

Meetings Close at Presbyterian Church Revival

Sunday evening service at the Presbyterian Church featured Rev. Wilkinson delivering forceful Bible truths and urging personal commitment to Christian life. About thirty names joined the organization. praise for Mrs. Wilkinson’s pianism, Mr. White’s singing, and the overall uplifting impact of the gathering.

Lawn Picnic Brings Church Folks Together on Pleasant Evening

Members of the Presbyterian Church gathered on the lawns of Rev N W Clark and Mr J E Hancock last Thursday at 5 30 PM for a delightful picnic. Mr White led singing and solos while families entertained the children. A wholesome lunch was served and at 7 30 PM the crowd moved to the evening service cherishing closer fellowship.

Bip Wolfe and Miss Lela Knight were united in marriage on Wednesday June 21 at the Methodist Church with Rev C T Hunt officiating. The bride wore dark blue silk canton and the groom a blue suit. Wolfe is the son of Mrs. Grant Knight and the couple reside near Worthington while Wolfe works as an instructor at Western Union Telegraph. The couple will remain for a few weeks before joining their circle of friends and relatives in congratulations.

Flashes of Action to Be Shown at Home Theatre Montezuma

The World War II era film Flashes of Action is exhibited for the first time in Montezuma Indiana at Home Theatre on July 5 1922 under Morris Post of the American Legion auspices. It shows scenes from the front with doughboys and vivid combat moments reflecting the Argonne and other battles. Audience reception is described as capacity crowds in major cities and broad appeal to veterans and families alike.

Minnie Ethel Rohr daughter of John and Isabelle Rohr born near Montezuma September 8 1888 died June 23 1922 aged 33 years 9 months 15 days. She married Charles Keller in 1904 and Frank Moore in 1908 producing two infant daughters and one son who died at age one. She had been ill ten years with neuralgia of the heart. Flashes of Action film reveals WWI scenes in stirring reel

A Signal Corps officer selected five reels from miles of footage to create Flashes of Action. The film shows training camps, shipboard scenes, France trenches, gas attacks, artillery, a sinking U boat, and American planes. It aims to vividly bring home the war with real sights and memories for veterans. Admission is 20 and 35 cents.
