Rehearsals for a big local minstrel show at the High School Auditorium next Wednesday March 1 progress well. The program promises high quality with music jokes and stunts. The second part includes four acts and a farce with interwoven gags. Public tickets to go on sale Saturday at Cummins Pharmacy. Season ticket holders to reserve seats.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bosley and Mrs. John Bosley were in town. Terre Haute callers visited Wednesday. A group of pupils are out of school due to sickness. Mrs. Sam Smith and son Melvin have the flu. In a hard fought first tournament game Bloomingdale beat Montezuma 26 to 21. Fans praised Montezuma for a superb passing game and strong second half rally but foul line struggles sealed the loss. Officials and players lauded the contest as the tournament’s best.
Three Indianapolis men James Brennan 28 J J McNamara 22 and Eugene Woodard 29 are identified as the January First National Bank robbers. Identifications came from Mrs Dayke Scott who saw them on the day of the crime and from Mrs Hann who picked Brennan out in Indianapolis. Brennan is in Rockville awaiting trial while all three are in Marion County Jail.
Edgar Norman of near Tangier made a pleasant call in Enterprise on Saturday, chatting with residents and sharing news of the area.
A miners train en route to a coal mine near Dana derailed Tuesday at 6 15 am west of Hillsdale by the Davis home. Fifty passengers escaped with only scratches and a severe shaking. The tender jumped the track and the engine turned over as the backward running train arrived at the mine.
Come to Montezuma Saturday for the Farmers and Merchants Auction Sale starting at 10 A M and a High School carnival at 7 P M. The event invites all families, with theatre pictures and merchant shoppers’ incentives. Ingram promotes his spring opening sale with specials.

Mrs Geo Jackson died last Friday in Mecca, leaving a husband and an 18 month old child. Belle Woods returned to Terre Haute after two weeks with Earl Brown. Wm Fiscus spent Monday in Paris Ill. James Cosby is gravely ill with death expected soon. Born to Mr and Mrs Clay Adams a daughter on February 19. To Mr and Mrs Herman Lear, a daughter.
