Fire destroys opera house and Dana Hotel in town blaze
A early morning fire starting around 2 a.m. gutted the opera house bowling alley and lunch room, then spread to the Dana Hotel and Rhoades Dry Goods store. It caused about 25 000 dollars in damage with no serious injuries. Some fear incendiary cause while bucket brigades saved others. Arthur Powell lost his moving picture show.

The Rockville paper reports Walter Rierdon, a young Democrat, training in the Rockville office for the Montezuma postmaster position.
