Parke County Society Plans Memorials and 1928 State Parks Conference
Parke County Historical Society met at Mrs Rufus Dooley s home to discuss erecting memorials at county historical sites and a Memorial Day address. Civil War veterans and the Legion will cooperate. A bronze memorial for 2000 Parke county Civil War veterans may be dedicated with an Indiana dignitary as speaker. Local delegates were appointed for the May 7 9 1928 National Conference on State Parks at Turkey Run State Park.

Death of Mrs. J. G. Hirsbrunner in Wingate Ind
Word arrived of the death of Mrs. J G Hirsbrunner at her Wingate Indiana home on Monday after several weeks illness. She is survived by her husband her mother and five sisters. Funeral services were held at the late home Wednesday with burial in Marshall cemetery. Mrs Hirsbrunner was well known in the community since moving here years ago where her husband served as school superintendent.

Wheel Theft During Commencement Injures buggy near shop
At a local commencement event, a wheel was stolen from Mr. and Mrs. John Myers buggy and replaced with a defective one near the Runnion blacksmith shop. The owner repaired the wheel to reach home and suspects a likely culprit who may face prosecution.
