The flood left homes with water two to four feet deep damaging furniture and pianos. Debris filled yards with rails and mud as officials repaired grades and set a temporary ferry for students. Officials and residents offer sympathy while those spared give thanks for survival.
A flood damaged numerous properties including Meadows residences and outbuildings, barns, basements, and stores. Homes such as the Doss, Curry, and Williams properties suffered water in floors and ruined goods, with losses ranging up to about 1200 dollars.
Tom Cregg died after a week long illness and was buried at Oakland cemetery on Saturday. Mrs Thomas Morgan died after a long lingering illness and was laid to rest at Morgan cemetery on Sunday. she is survived by several children.

Sunday work by motor boats and row boats repaired a telegraph line across the C H and D washed out channel. Arthur Powell and Robert Sutton threaded a wire after three hours marooned while Tom Dunlap and Frank Reeder assisted. The line was lost again by a floating log but M G McGinty and Western Union lineman later restored service with boats and tree-drift. Downey, Arn and Montgomery aided with launches.
Two construction gangs on the C W and D railroad work Sunday to repair a washed out trestle between Montezuma and Hillsdale. They are replacing with longer trestle work to withstand high water and expect track clearance in a week to ten days.
A committee started Tuesday to raise a relief fund for flood survivors and by three hours had collected over 80 dollars. Donations are sought through Miss Marie McCord at H S Cornwell's store, with bedding and furniture also welcome for distribution to those in need.
