United States Senator Robert M. La Follette will open Republican campaign events in Green County with an address at the Armory of Co. H. Chairman S S Summers led organizing efforts as the trip shifts from Dane County to this city.

Senators on the stump in Wisconsin this week

Wisconsin’s two U S senators will campaign in the state next week. John C Spooner will begin seven speeches for the Republican ticket Monday night ending the night before election. His first stop may be Wausaw, arranged personally by friends not the state committee. He is also active in Iowa this week aiding the GOP campaign.

Infant of Deininger Parents Dies in Convulsions

Mortuary record for Mr. and Mrs. Fred Deininger announces the infant’s death from convulsions last evening. Funeral is scheduled for tomorrow at 2 PM from the family residence.

Death Claims Mr and Mrs Flannery of Brodhead

Brodhead residents Mr John Flannery and his wife Mrs Flannery died within hours of each other. Mrs Flannery passed away last evening and Mr Flannery died at 4 15 this morning. They were parents of Edward Flannery of Argyle former proprietor of the City hotel. Bodies be transported for burial with Mr Flannery to be buried here and Mrs Flannery to Albany.

Sunday Concert At The Universalist Church

A Sunday evening concert at 7 30 at the Universalist church benefits the music fund. The program features organ solos, anthems, vocal solos, and a quartet with performers including Mrs Considine Mr Thorp Mrs Palmer Miss Jessie Green and Mr Trachsel. A door collection funds the event.

Monroe High School Forms Two Music Circles

Monroe high school organizes a girls glee club directed by Miss Lillis King and a violin and mandolin club led by Miss Nelle Miller. Members include Jessie Green and Helen Stearns among others. Rehearsals begin Fridays and Mondays with public performances planned to enhance school events and commencements under strict school supervision. Monroe citizens anticipate the first public appearances of the student musicians.

Students Enroll Record at Wisconsin College of Agriculture

Enrollment in the four year course at University of Wisconsin College of Agriculture reaches a new high with 135 students registered. Green County locals include Lloyd O. Tax figures show reduced county duties in Wisconsin

Wisconsin counties face much smaller tax bills this year with total state taxes about 643 480 dollars. Without remissions Milwaukee would pay over 500 000 and Dane about 117 000. remissions by state officials reduce figures and counties will receive more back than they pay for schools. Green County contributes 10 300.50.

Explosion Kills Two Men in Freight Engine Crash

One of the railway’s largest freight engines exploded early yesterday near Morton Grove, thirty five miles south of Corliss on the Chicago division. The fireman and engineer, both Chicago men, were instantly killed. Eight wrecks occurred on the Milwaukee railway between seven o'clock Monday night and seven o'clock yesterday morning, with three severe crashes stopping traffic systemwide.

Monroe High to Stage Class Football Game Tomorrow

Monroe High School will hold a 4 PM class football game tomorrow. A senior and freshman team will face juniors and sophomores in an evenly matched, close contest to raise funds for the athletics program. Community members are urged to attend and support the team and school spirit.
