La Follette Campaign Visit Expected in Monroe

United States Senator Robert M. La Follette is expected to visit Monroe during his campaign trip though no firm schedule exists yet. Congressman Cooper plans two Green County meetings including one in Monroe, to occur in the weeks before the election, with another meeting set for the later part of the week prior to the election.

Oldest Twin Sisters Die At 92 In Omaha

Mrs. Hiram Johnson died Saturday night in Omaha at age 92. She was sister to Mrs. Anna Noggle, mother of Mrs. Puffer, and until Mrs. Noggle’s death last February, the oldest living twins in the United States. Her body was sent to Kankakee Illinois for burial. Four children survive.

Mrs Puffer received a silk flag from Mrs Caroline Bell of Milwaukee during a W R C inspection. Forty five members attended and Mrs Bell praised the corps work and condition. Refreshments followed. The district convention will be at Brodhead tomorrow with Monroe corps well represented.

Nervy figure dubbed Jack the Kisser prowls city streets

A disturbance erupted Tuesday evening as a man described as Jack the Kisser targeted women in the eastern part of town near Emerson Street by the Milwaukee depot. A frightened young woman phoned her father for company on her walk home after dark.

Summers Elected Chairman of Seventeenth District Committee
