Two Madison shops were robbed early Saturday with about $3000 in merchandise taken. W J Gamm Jewelry was entered for silver valuables while The Coop hardware store lost fountain pens and about one hundred calipers valued at eighteen dollars each. Police traced two men who tried to buy Monroe train tickets at 3 am then changed to Janesville. a heavy telescope raised suspicion. City Detective Patrick Bofd was sent to Chicago to observe possible handling of stolen goods.

Stove Ends Life of Racine Woman in Gasoline Fire
Mrs Otto Godopski aged 26 was fatally burned at 928 Liberty Street Racine yesterday when a leaking gasoline stove ignited a fire in the kitchen. She ran from the house but clothing burned off as neighbors and her husband aided her. she was rushed to a hospital and not expected to recover.
