Redistricting Wisconsin After Census Report Sets Ten Year Plan
The next Wisconsin legislature will redraw congressional districts based on the 1X census, with ten year apportionment. A detailed census report is expected by December, but smaller cities wait for population data. The census bureau pursues heavy tabulation with 63,000 enumerators and 207 supervisors, costing about 4.2 million dollars, plus 250 thousand for manufacturing data. Ephraim Miller bought the Bower property in Janesville for 500 dollars. his son Fred will live there. Congressman Cooper denies a hair was thrown at him, claiming no substantial action occurred. Reports from Rock County warn of ongoing disease impact and fatalities. Howard Chadwick suffered a serious right-foot injury with pus infection and sepsis, under care of Dr. J L Hodges. The first copy of the Plover Review has arrived, with G H Liddell as editor and publisher, showing promise for the journal.
