Monroe man faces fourth offense DWI
Monroe man Jay C. Gonstead with three prior DWI convictions was arrested again for DWI and resisting an officer early Saturday amid a hit and run and unsafe backing incident in the 2700 block of 6th Avenue. He refused a blood test and was jailed on a $1,000 signature bond after a not guilty plea.

Hunting dog killed in traffic east of Albany
A hunting walker coonhound was struck and killed by a vehicle as it crossed Wisconsin 59 in the W500 block late Saturday Aug 17 near Albany. The driver Brendon T Campbell 22 Albany was uninjured and the car had minor damage. The dog owner was present and had been raccoon hunting.

Gas main break reports and fires in Shullsburg area
In Shullsburg and surrounding areas, responders handled a gas main break on Mineral Street at 1:22 p.m. Friday August 16 with traffic control and evacuation. A Rural Medical Ambulance and Darlington Fire Department treated a person who fell from a horse the following day, and a grass fire on County P required deputy assistance.
