Owen Family Blames Death On Accident
Ernest Owen 37 of Monroe died Tuesday morning from a gunshot at his Pasadena home near Houston. Funeral in Monroe followed, with inquest initially ruling suicide later changed to accidental discharge. Survived by his mother Mrs F E Owen wife and two sons Don and Laure Elmer Owen. Injured shoe clerk dies after early morning crash
Herbert Osteen a 28 year old shoe clerk at a Morone gore shop died at a hospital after a 3 am crash when his auto hit a railroad tank car being switched across De Sjard street. He suffered a brain injury and severe contusions but skull fractures were not found. Osteen and his wife had moved from Meridian Mississippi to Monroe county recently and lived on highway No 8 near West Monroe. The body was taken to Meridian Wednesday.
