Dome Stadium in New Orleans Area Estimated to Bring 71 Million Annually

Gulf South Research Institute estimates the domed stadium would yield about 71 million dollars each year. It would be funded by a constitutional amendment on the November 8 ballot and could host a professional football team. Visitors from out of state would spend roughly 40 dollars per person while Louisiana residents spend 25 dollars. each dollar would circulate about 11 times. The final GSRI report was delivered to the Louisiana Science Foundation which paid 50 000 dollars for the feasibility study. A preliminary study had been released earlier and plans include a 1 percent occupancy tax on hotel rooms in New Orleans and nearby Jefferson Parish to finance bonds.

Braves eye All Star game to aid Southern League
