Tropical hurricane stalls near the coast sending tremors across the region as residents report shaking felt in Mobile and Pensacola. Officials warn of continuing weather impacts and urge caution for coastal communities and travelers.
A hurricane swept the southern states causing two deaths and widespread damage. Mobile and Pensacola suffered rain, unroofed buildings, and telecommunications disruption. Property losses near 160000 dollars were noted, with ships sunk and trains affected as tremors rattled the region.
