A bill in St Louis seeks to franchise The St Louis Industrial Gas Company to pipe natural gas from Louisiana fields to Missouri industries. Promoters seek 50 million feet daily to justify a 30 million dollar pipeline project, with Standard Oil and partners pooling gas holdings.
The body of Elizabeth Chattron Poole aged 33 former actress is held at the morgue as police investigate a possible death from violence. Poole died at a private hospital after being admitted Monday with speculation of a nightclub assault. The attending physician cites myocarditis as the cause.

The Yankees’ Ruth smashed a right field homer for his first of the series as Gehrig walked and Meusel and Lazzeri added moments. Dugan and Bengough contributed outs while Hoyt’s throw allowed Maranville to score, producing one run and two errors.
In the fifth, Hoyt walked then singled, Paschal followed with a center hit, sending Hoyt to third and Paschal to second. Koenig fanned, Ruth grounded out. Gehrig walked and Maranville forced him, leaving the bases loaded. Meusel walked, forcing Gehrig, but Frisch and Bottomley were retired, and no runs scored with two hits and three errors noted.

James Dabb, a Black man, was sentenced by City Judge W. M. Harper after attempting to outrun a motorcycle officer ordered to the curb. He received 10 days in the city jail to reflect on the offense and faces 50 additional days if he cannot pay the $50 fine.

Dr. S Parkes Cadman chairman of the China famine relief organization in New York received a letter from Leighton Rand of the China Inland Mission at Lanchowfu Kansu detailing a Moslem insurrection and a reported massacre of about 200000 people in Kansu Province. The letter says villages were looted and burned and survivors suffer without food or clothing amid the rebellion.
New Orleans reports twelve airplanes taking off for a good will trip across Louisiana Mississippi and Texas. Commissioner T Semmes Walmsley led the delegation accompanied by about 20 business and civic leaders. They plan stops at Bogalusa Laurel and Jackson for the night.
