The court adjourned to resume hearings and issue opinions tomorrow.
Major Dieundonne Coste and Captain Maurice Bellonte departed Menefee field New Orleans at 10 35 A M for Pensacola Florida in their famous biplane the Question Mark continuing their historic flight.
The Mississippi Supreme Court ruled that taking a drink of liquor is not a violation of law and does not equal possession. The decision reversed Stribling’s conviction but affirmed others, noting drinking without proof of possession or liquor type is not illegal. James and Jim Thompson’s ten year terms for assault with intent to kill were affirmed in a related case.

Foster H. White a 37 year old World War II veteran killed himself in a Shreveport hotel after leaving a note to his Dallas wife indicating domestic trouble. Coroner Dr Willis P Butler said the death occurred Sunday afternoon and the body was found by a porter after midnight with a revolver still in White hand and liquor bottles in the room.
A Lufthansa aircraft routing Berlin to Vienna crashes near Dresden killing six passengers and two crew. Victims include Frau Graefe and Fraulein Bluemel, plus P W Blackwell, Foeldes, Knittell, and Kuehnelt. Erich Post piloted, Max Lange was the mechanic. The single motor plane carried ten. The model has served Lufthansa mainly as freight carrier.
Beaujais France October 6 British warship sails for France with recovered bodies of 48 victims of the R-101 disaster. Investigations into the dirigible's mysterious loss continue as authorities seek cause and accountability amid national mourning.
R H Ranney and J D Sellers of Jackson Mississippi pleaded guilty in federal court to hunting wild geese from an airplane. Judge Ben C Dawkins fined each man ten dollars. The case highlighted the illegality of hunting geese and ducks from an aircraft.
Dick Grogan, inmate in La Salle parish jail, ended a 15 day hunger strike by eating soup and tomatoes after doctors failed to persuade him. He and his brother are charged with first degree murder in the Deputy Sheriff Andrew Womack case and are slated for arraignment in Harrisonburg on October 20.

Brady Texas faced over 100000 dollars in flood damage as riverside waters rose through the town. About 250 residents were left homeless with flood depths from three to seven feet on the courthouse plaza and eight feet inside the Chamber of Commerce building.

He noted farmers struggle to handle prices and proposed cart lot shipments via Farmers National Grain Corp to distribute feeds at minimum charges.
Judge L S Britt in El Dorado Arkansas refused to grant a writ of habeas corpus for M C Nash charged as an accessory in the Farmerville State Bank robbery. The ruling speeds Nash extradition to Louisiana. Sheriff Murphy plans to fetch the prisoner today. Horace Nash awaits recovery from appendicitis before his case proceeds.
President Washington Luis decreed martial law throughout Brazil until December 1 because of a revolt in the southward region. The measure, announced in Rio de Janeiro on October 6, aims to stabilize the country amid rising tensions.
One hundred sixteen pastors presiding elders and laymen attended a noon luncheon at Hotel Monroe with Bishop H. M. Dobbs as guest of honor.
