Train crew cited for blocking Monroe crossing
Inspector Robert E. Heap telegraphed to Vicksburg to serve papers on Conductor A. J. Hood and Engineer John Doyle of train No. 1. They are charged with violating a city ordinance by blocking the Monroe crossing at North First and Walnut for eighteen minutes yesterday afternoon. The train was due at 12 15 p m and arrived at 2 15 p m. Officer F K Ham was on duty at the crossing and city officials directed complaints against the conductor and engineer.

Grant reprieve in Eaton case delays execution by Governor

Supreme Court Clarifies Right to Store Liquor
Washington November 8 The United States Supreme Court ruled that liquor lawfully acquired by a person for personal use may be stored outside the home. The decision came on an appeal challenging a seizure of liquor kept in a room leased from a company and held that Congress did not forbid such storage for lawful purposes. It also said moving liquor from a warehouse to the owner's home does not count as illegal transportation under the enforcement act.

Train Eleven Derailed East of Millhaven
Train No. 11 of the Vicksburg Shreve port and Pacific railroad derailed about 9 o clock last night eleven miles from Monroe between Millhaven and Crew Lake. No one was seriously injured though several passengers were bruised. A bad track is blamed. engine Frank Watts and conductor Berkley led the train. The track was cleared by noon and trains east and west were delayed for hours.
