In Baton Rouge on May 28 the administration tax measure was completed and will be introduced in the Senate. In Baton Rouge on May 28 Representative Buie of Richland Parish won House approval for a joint investigation into the sale of public lands by the Tensas Basin Levee Board to the Tensas Delta Land Company. The vote, 69 to 33, followed intense debate and a split among administration leaders.
A large crowd attended last night as City School held its graduating exercise at the auditorium. The event celebrated the graduates with speeches and ceremonies marking the end of the school term.

Teachers and graduates chose this costume to end costly rivalry over elaborate dresses. Fathers in the audience showed peace and satisfaction, as all graduates appeared charming and evenly dressed.

Heroes of the volunteer fire department saved much of the city.
