Mr and Mrs E C Rolleigh traveled yesterday via the Iron Mountain to Opelousas for several days then will visit their son Louis Rolleigh in New Orleans where he attends Louies Commercial College. They will spend the summer in Pensacola Florida with son Eugene Rolleigh. Mr Rolleigh is the Louisiana representative of Warren Piano Company of Warren Pennsylvania.
Paris reports officials of the French line deny any torpedoing of the Champagne. A Madrid sourced tale claimed a February plot to blow up the ship was foiled by a wireless alert to arrest a passenger. Five dynamite bombs were found in that passenger's trunk.
Liverpool reports the Nebraskan's chief engineer believes he saw a torpedo trail shortly before the blast. The captain agrees torpedo caused the explosion, not a mine. An American naval attaché and constructor are conducting a careful investigation.
The House will report a convention bill from committee. A hearing is scheduled for next Tuesday to advance the measure through the chamber.
