Tragic double tragedy ends with five shots in Monroe room
Peter Belbas 54 of West Monroe shot and killed Ruby Cupples 23 and then himself in a 304 Olive street rooming house after a quarrel over marriage promises. Cupples sister Maxine 20 witnessed part of the shooting. Belbas died at a local hospital. Cupples buried at Farmerville funeral home with relatives gathering there.
