Associated Press report from New York dated May 1 indicates Jeremiah Lynch, an American sentenced to be shot at dawn in Dublin, may have his fate censored. No cable word on Lynch’s status by noon. The U.S. President made an eleventh hour plea for a stay to allow investigation. It is unclear if to British authorities received the plea in time to halt the execution.

Associated Press reports Francis co Villa is operating south of Parcal under the name Augustin Garcia. Travelers bring word from Chihuahua City that Villa has about two hundred men near Borjas, indicating ongoing activity in the border area.
Washington May 9 Appropriations of 16 806 000 for continuing construction and operation of the Panama Canal and 4 500 000 for fortification are among large items in the sundry civil bill reported to the House. The bill totals over 127 million dollars and includes 22 000 for the national military park at Vicksburg.
Baton Rouge reports Prohibition forces won the first battle as Delos Johnson moved the near beer bill to Leon R. Smith's judiciary committee over anti liquor opposition. The measure targets prohibition territory and faces further committee action. other fiscal and pension issues also crowd the session.
