Two way traffic started today in the 100 block of Walnut downtown Monroe allowing southbound access while the 1100 block previously moved north only. Monroe Police Chief James C Kelly said the change may be permanent and urged motorists to use caution until patterns are familiar. Drivers must stop north of the railroad tracks for clearance from northbound traffic entering Walnut. The pattern lets northbound traffic loop at the tracks and return south on Walnut toward DeSiard.
