In Hogansville Georgia on May 13 Sam Owensby a Black man who yesterday struck and fatally injured Breoks Lane a young white farmer was taken from the Hogansville jail last night and killed by an angry mob.

Mrs Whitten wife of L M Whitten of the Texas Oil Co and a popular Iron Mountain team pitcher in the City League, died Sunday after a two week illness. Remains to be interred at her old Franklin parish home. Sympathy extended to Mr Whitten from many friends.
