London May 9 A conspiracy to induce sailors to mutiny and soldiers to demobilize by marching from barracks has been reported by the Daily Mail. Documents were seized and searches conducted at four stations in France and several in England as the plan sought to seize ports and incite police and soldiers to join. The organizers aim to force government action by triggering disorders and anarchy.
President Wilson plans a trip through Belgium and Paris in May and will deliver a major speech during the visit. The Associated Press notes the itinerary is being finalized and highlights the significance of the address abroad.
Toledo May the Wyllis Overland Company plant was closed late this afternoon after a clash between strikers and police.
