Women golfers gather for Louisiana championship in Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge hosts the Louisiana Women's Golf Association tournament at the University Club Monday through Friday. Notable participant Mrs. E. S. Girault from Lakeside golf and country club is expected to contend for the title amid strong local interest.

American Legion Junior Group to Reorganize Soon

At a Sunday meeting of the Sons of the American Legion at the L. B. Faulk post memorial home Seymour Tuey was elected temporary chairman to direct the group until officers are chosen. Sam Orchard led the gathering with J. E. Dupont and Ben Stern assisting. next meeting Wednesday at 7 45 p m when officers will be elected. Boys eligible for membership asked to bring parents. State Welfare Conference Set In New Orleans

The Louisiana Conference of Social Welfare meets in New Orleans May 6 to 8. A. R. Johnson, state welfare commissioner, will lead with focus on The State's Responsibility for Social Work. Monroe delegation details were not released, marking the 21st annual conference. Registration opens at 1 PM Thursday with a 3 PM session on echoes at the regional institute.
