A powerful wind storm leaves eighty seven dead and many injured across the region. Emergency crews race to assess damage as residents seek shelter and aid. Local authorities urge caution amid widespread destruction and disrupted services.
A massive storm spanning Thursday night and Friday killed at least eighty-seven people and injured hundreds across the Central to Eastern States, with Alabama reporting the heaviest losses. Damages reached into the millions as buildings toppled and communications collapsed. Widespread wind speeds set records in Detroit Toledo Buffalo and Memphis as cold air followed.
Mobile Alabama March 22. Morristown north of Mobile suffered from the same tornado that wrecked Lower Peachtree yesterday. Eight houses were wrecked. No fatalities, though several people were injured.

The University offers two terms a six week course for credit and an optional three week extension for additional credit. The University will run a nine week summer session to accommodate many students and the ongoing regular summer program. Summer terms begin this year on June.
