In Washington a party of GOP members heard President Eisenhower praise Leonard W. Hall as a leading contender for next year’s Republican nomination for New York governor. The scene followed talks with about 200 Senate House and Cabinet members at a cocktail gathering.
The International Boxing Club of New York and affiliates including Madison Square Garden and James D. Norris and Arthur M. Wirtz were found guilty of conspiring to monopolize promotion of title bouts and rights sales. The trial cited control of 80 percent of US championship bouts from 1949 to 1953 and a 1949 agreement with Joe Louis Enterprises to control heavyweight contracts.
Dr B R Burmester reported a breakthrough in a vaccine that protects chickens against lymphomatosis, a cancerlike virus disease. The extract increases hen resistance about five thousandfold and may guide future human leukemia vaccine research, though not yet practical or safe for chicks.

Los Angeles policewoman testified she knocked on Frank Sinatra's door at about 4 am on February 16 and called him by affectionate names in an attempt to wake him. Subpoena served during deposition hearings aimed at determining if Sinatra has a potential civil action and whom he should sue.

Leonard Patterson 51 of New York City testified to a Baton Rouge committee that the Communist party first penetrated the South in 1929 by sending organizers to Gastonia North Carolina to incite a textile strike. He described party efforts to recruit black workers and convert Negroes to the international movement as the hearings continued in Baton Rouge.
Three teenage girls Janice Redmond Carolyn Ann O Neal and Ruth Wiley from West Monroe are missing since Wednesday morning as a three state search spans Mississippi Louisiana and Texas. Their mothers say the runaway resulted from three weeks of planning.
Alcorn A&M students, threatening to close the Negro college, agree to consider returning to classes on condition that Prof. Clennon King resigns. King left for Jackson to deliver his resignation after being turned down for a letter of resignation from Dr. Otis. Dean George Wilkins urged careful action as alumni advised students to weigh their next move.
State Superintendent Shelby M Jackson announced KLSE Educational Television will go on air at 8 00 p m Saturday for testing and run two hours daily for 30 to 60 days. Monroe area school administrators will advise and cooperate in the educational test programs for children youth and adults.
