Little Prince Ananda Awaits Siamese Throne
The 11 year old Little Prince Ananda told reporters he is not happy to become king of Siam. He spoke in French saying he would rather amuse himself and prefers to return to his studies after the carnations ceremony. His schoolmates cheer his royal status but he asked for solo photos and challenged guards to note his statements. He welcomed a telegram from Bangkok about his succession and possible home return.

The senate agriculture committee today approved the house bill providing for a processing tax on rice but postponed the levy’s effective date from March 15 to April 1. The tax would be one cent a pound on rough rice from April 1, 1935, to July 31, 1936.
