Navy spokesman Cmdr Thomas Coldwell said surgeons removed a small skin cancer from President Lyndon B Johnsons left ankle during his term. He noted no recurrence and said most lesions between 1965 and 1969 were benign. The ankle procedure occurred in the White House.
