Applicants must fill in their name and address and mail or deliver it to The Monroe News-Star Publishing Co Campaign Department. Each candidate may receive 5000 free votes as a starter. Only one coupon per candidate is allowed.
The piece urges readers to contact the Campaign Department for a free starting outfit and to begin clipping coupons from The News-Star and Morning Post or securing new and renewal subscriptions. It stresses early action, a per subscription vote schedule, and finishing strong to win prizes, including potential cars.
The News Star Publishing Co. will distribute a total of 18 000 in prizes among active candidates. Eight prize cars go to the top vote getters among six district leaders and two high scorers, then cash prizes of 200 to the next six in each district, followed by 100 to top remaining vote earners. All other active candidates receive a 10 percent commission on subscriptions won.
The newspaper announces an Advisory Board will decide any major questions during the competition and a committee will be selected to act as judges and count votes on the final night. Names will be announced later.
