St Matthew's Church marked the silver jubilee of Pastor Rev N F Vandegaer with high mass and floral decor. Rev R H de Vriendt and Rev F X Kronemeyer assisted. sermon by Rev John M Salter reflected on priests' lifelong dedication and duties.
Visiting clergy for the jubilee include Rev. J. V. Plauche of Bunkle Rev. O. M. Poche of Shreveport Rev. Salter S. J. of Grand Coteau La Rev. de Keuwer of Plancheville La Rev. L. de Ceau laer of Echo La and Rev. Scallan of Alexandria The Vandegaer family also attends the celebration including his mother Mrs Isabelle Many La sister Sister Theresa of San Antonio and brother J C Vandegaer studying for the priesthood.
