Louisiana Legion Set August Meeting in Shreveport
The 1927 Louisiana department American Legion convention will be in Shreveport on August 18 to 20 after New Iberia withdrew due to flood conditions. A relief committee for World War veterans and families was formed to manage welfare and rehabilitation funds with support from national, auxiliary, and state sources. Committees of parish Legionnaires will aid fund disbursement, and a July 5 to 15 state wide membership drive is planned as a lead up to the convention.
