Joe Louis Collapses On New York Street
Former heavyweight boxing champion Joe Louis collapsed on a Manhattan street and was rushed to Beekman Downtown Hospital. Police said a heart attack was suspected though his condition was not immediately known. State Medicaid ADC cuts voted by welfare board
The State Welfare Board unanimously approved deep cuts to Medicaid and Aid to Dependent Children payments. Medicaid funding will drop nearly $6 million and ADC grants fall 12 percent by ending the maximum grant and applying a ratable reduction.
