London reports stir over beer quality with English drinkers lamenting degraded taste since before the war. Brewers concede current brews carry more non essential additives while prices hinder maintaining old standards. MP Burgess pressures government to guarantee quality as a bill is considered.
Attorney General Daugherty announced Governor Thomas W. Hardwick of Georgia is appointed to the department of justice frauds division legal advisory council. His Georgia term expires and he succeeds former Senator Thomas of Colorado who resigned recently. Other members include Judges Kerr and Bigger.
Jane Addams of Hull House is hospitalized in Tokyo with a small tumor. Doctors have not yet determined its nature and say there is no cause for alarm.
Six of the Elaine insurrection defendants freed from the Little Rock facility after orders from Judge E D Robertson. Sheriff Calloway had brought them from Marianna on a miscommunication of directives. Four more ships due to test U S rights to prohibit sealed liquor across the three mile limit bringing total foreign liners to fourteen.
Four Germans were shot and killed and three others wounded by Belgian sentinels at Buir Germany near the frontier on Sunday. The incident occurred as tensions rose along the border with Belgian forces firing on four captured or attempting to cross the line, according to dispatches from the scene.
