Legislative Digest notes numerous bills passed in June session
The House acted on many measures including H. 749 extending absentee voting rights, H. 120 allowing a lawsuit against the highway department, and multiple senate bills. Notable actions include funding increases for officials, establishment of a state mental hospital in St. Tammany Parish, creation of a Chalmette back level district, a Mansfield city status, and raises for judges, DA salaries, and staff. Several bills were signed by the governor and additional appropriations and regulatory changes were approved.
