Leon Davenport age 54 well known Mer Rouge planter died in a Monroe hospital after a brief illness. Funeral plans anticipated in Mer Rouge with interment there. He born March 3 1881 was youngest son of Capt C C Davenport and married 1904 to Mael Sharp of Shaw Mississippi. Surviving are a daughter Mabel Sharp Davenport two brothers Hugo and Joe Davenport and two sisters Mrs C W Thibodeaux and Mrs A M Williams all of Mer Rouge.

Miss Lois Thompson a 19 year old co ed and part Indian student at Northeastern Oklahoma Teachers College was found guilty of assault with intent to kill for shooting Daniel Shaw a Chinese classmate.
