Graft Admitted as Orleans Police Probe Expands
Retired Sgt Clifford Reuther testified he took almost $2,000 weekly in graft from New Orleans hand books and lotteries for nearly four years. He named five police captains and said anonymous threats followed after his testimony. Perjury charges were filed against Lt Louis Dumaine in the graft probe.

The Monroe district office of the Louisiana department of conservation logged one completion in LaSalle parish Rog ers field and two new Clayton field drilling applications in Concordia parish. Nebo Oil Co drilled a 4502 foot well testing 123 barrels of 42 gravity oil daily on a 964 choke with sands perforated at 3636 9 feet and tubing pressure of 45 pounds. Drilling tests were abandoned in LaSalle at 1337 feet and in Tensas at 7428 feet.

The third session of a six day PTA workshop at Northeast Louisiana State College emphasized group participation. Mrs Marvin DeFreese led a demonstration meeting and Ruston PTA representatives presented a socio drama to spark interest in PTA work.
