Attack on Rheims Front Follows Bombardment
German bombardment precedes a planned Rheims front attack between Vrigny and La Pompelle. French forces resist strongly and push back attackers, holding the end line. East of Rheims French forces also hold, while British raids south of Buterne and north of Albert succeed. Desperate Negro Kills 1 Wounds 7 Then Is Hung
The Mississippi Negro Clayton, described as a draft dodger, killed one white man and wounded seven others near Mangham. At an informal meeting in city hall an unofficial parish health body was formed to tackle anti tuberculosis child welfare and general betterment with a visiting nurse.
