The forecast covers Union Lincoln Bienville Jackson and Winn parishes with partly cloudy, warm conditions and a 20 percent rain chance today and tonight, rising to 40 percent Friday. Louisiana congressman Joe D. Waggonner Jr. rejected a New York Post report claiming he sought sex from a decoy policewoman on 14th Street, saying the incident was an entrapment attempt and that he fled after fearing assault. The Post cited unnamed sources and alleged a cover up reaching top police and officials but noted no charges or records against him.
The New York Post reported Rep. Joe Waggonner of Louisiana was detained by vice squad agents who said he tried to solicit a woman decoy for sex in Washington earlier this year. Federal officials allegedly suppressed records of the incident.
Mayor Ralph Troy of Monroe says the city must decide soon whether to join other cities in building a power source or to exit the business.
