Negro Attacker Held After Robbery of Postmistress
Fred Kendricks, 21, a Negro, robbed and knocked out Miss Alice Landers, 50, postmistress of Oakland Louisiana, taking fifty five dollars. He was charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault, transferred to Ouachita Parish jail, with state and federal charges filed. Landers reported improved after treatment for a broken collarbone and bruises. Kendricks had been identified and captured by El Dorado police within 36 hours.
