Monroe City Council Approves Three Zoning Changes

The Monroe City Council backed three zoning amendments from the Monroe-Quachita Regional Planning Commission. One change faced opposition from three property owners over extending B-3 general business into Tower Drive, now B-5. The council overrode objections but asked Bentz and Elmore to restrict adjoining land uses to B-5. Residents argued against broader B-3 use, not the planned wholesale tobacco warehouse. Approved without opposition were extending A-1 to include one lot north of Forsythe and extending B-3 to 12.91 acres northeast of Twin City Shopping Center for a new Louisville shopping complex.
