Air Force court martial at Burtonwood England found Delbert E. Hill a 35 year old Philadelphian guilty of desertion for a four year absence. He received two years hard labor and a bad conduct discharge. Hill claimed he left to avoid hazardous duty and intended to return to the air force. Plane crash near Holliday Tennessee reported by Nashville Banner
The Nashville Banner, shortly before 1 p m, reported a large plane crash near Holliday Tennessee about 14 miles from Camden. The newspaper said Sheriff Roy Lewis, Camden officers, doctors and ambulances rushed to the scene. Reports from Camden indicated several missing and two or three believed killed.

The 64 year old Warden resident drowned in Bayou Macon near Delhi when his boat drifted away. An overnight search by Monroe firemen recovered the body nine feet deep near the bayou bank. Interment was planned at Delhi Masonic Cemetery after services at Delhi Baptist Church.
