Fine Arts Club Hosts Year End Dinner on Virginia Roof
The Fine Arts club of Monroe celebrated a year of achievements with a dinner party on the Virginia hotel roof garden. Toastmaster Frederick Williamson praised the club’s efforts across music literature drama pageantry and painting and highlighted the group’s role in stimulating cultural interest in the community. Guests included Mrs P A Poag Mrs J E Davis Mrs L V Tarver Miss Ar mandine Renaud Miss Virginia Galloway Mr Leon Hammond and others with new president Mrs Fannie Livandais set to lead next year.

Revival Underway as Rev. E H Grant Delivers Sermons in Ansley
Rev. E H Grant, Methodist Protestant conference evangelist, arrived in Ansley Monday night to begin a revival series. The 26 year old preacher has ten years of experience and has preached in about 15 states. He studied at Asbury College Wilmore. Meetings run through next week with a Sunday sermon planned at Monroe Methodist Protestant church.
