Cleveland Donald of Jackson, 17, has applied, with Ole Miss tentatively accepting. the case recalls James Meredith and Cleve McDowell, whose enrollments and expulsions triggered riots and federal troop deployments. The board may use Donalds youth court record to argue against admission, while government forces had previously deployed 22,000 troops during Merediths 1962 integration.
