Senator opposes $60 million tidelands settlement

Louisiana Senator Ho ward Jones of St. Joseph and State Mineral Board member tells the Legislature that a $60 million tidelands settlement is not justifiable. He cites little economic benefit and a 10 percent parish share, which would remove 86 million from the state, plus prior allocations to bond retirement and a total bonded indebtedness of $780 million.
